As many of you already know, we purchased a new home unexpectedly this past December. We have been toying with the idea of potentially moving out of Oregon for a long time now, but we haven’t found a place we like better, so we decided to stay put. It really is such an incredible place to live and would take a “heck yes” kind of place to get us to leave.
One weekend back in November it was unseasonably warm. I woke up one morning and thought, we should go to a hotel with a pool. And that led to me saying, “If only we had our own pool!” Homes with pools here in Oregon are not super common. So, I popped on Redfin and searched “homes with pools” and found a bunch of 5M + homes, and kept scrolling. I almost closed the app but then another house popped up in an area we liked that was within our budget and I about passed out! We immediately called our realtor/friend and went to see it that day.
Let’s just say it checked almost all of our boxes for a home. While it was a bit more traditional than I was used to working with, it felt like the homes I grew up watching as a kid and wishing for.
The rest is history!
The home needed quite a bit of updating, but it is very cosmetic. Floors, paint, lighting, hardware, etc. Our biggest project will be the kitchen, whenever we get to tackling that.
