FINALLY! I’m sharing the full before and afters of our home. As most of you know, we did a lot of budget updates in the house before we recently put it on the market. I hope this post inspires you in your own home or in a future home!
If you are interested in the items in the house, almost everything is linked here.
Exterior:
This was one of the first things that was glaring to me when we looked at the house, so it was one of the first things I wanted to update. We paid $5,500 to get the full exterior of the house painted.
Family Room:
I struggled so much with this room! I didn’t know what to do with the fireplace and then the two spaces on each side of it. Of course we wanted to do built-ins, but ultimately we just didn’t want to spend the money.
What did we do? Purchased these IKEA units that just so happened to fit perfectly in the space. Added new hardware to it. Then, we painted the fireplace. Spent around $1,500 for everything!
Living Room:
We really wanted this room to feel a bit more formal, but still relaxed. The layout was a tough one for us to figure out, but I’m really happy with the way it all turned out. A lot of our art were prints I bought on Etsy or from the BFF print shop and just bought frames for them.
Master Bedroom:
I really can’t get over the power of paint. This room gets the least amount of light in our house and the white paint stepped up the brightness BIG TIME. I also can say, the biggest furniture splurge was this bed and it has been worth EVERY PENNY.
Kitchen:
The kitchen was just a small refresh. We changed out the hardware to Rejuvenation hardware (around $700 total) and then we changed out the kitchen countertop ($2,000) which made such a huge difference!
Deck:
This was our biggest expense, but it was also a liability, so we put the most money into this! It was absolutely worth every penny since we used it all spring + summer long.
Office:
This one was a pretty easy one. We have a ton of white in the house so we opted for a nice grey paint in here.
The Rest:
Sharing a few more images of the home : )
Is there anything else you’d like to view in the house?
I hope this inspires you to tackle your home projects, knowing that you can indeed make affordable renovations!
