When I was able to try two days-worth of Methodology about 6 months ago, I fell in love with the company. A big upside to working in the social space, is that we are constantly learning about brands and products hitting the market and this was something I was super intrigued by.
So, I thought I’d try it again. This time, for health reasons. My background is in holistic nutrition (believe it or not, ha!). I truly have seen firsthand the power of diet in my own life and when I worked with clients and it forever changed the way I viewed health. Personally speaking, over the past 2 years I’ve noticed so many changes in my body, but most specifically, my digestion. I knew I needed to do some sort of elimination diet or just a solid month of an anti-inflammatory diet, but I was just too lazy. Since starting my company and then buying a house (and having a toddler running around) everything I craved in life was ease, which often meant quicker meals or eating out. Maybe a little extra wine than usual too.
Fast forward to a month ago when I was getting the worst heartburn I have ever had, I knew it was not normal and it was TIME. It was time to do something about it. My skin was looking dull, my jeans weren’t fitting, my energy was low and I just knew this wasn’t my best self. I also knew that I felt totally intimidated by having to plan out and cook for an elimination diet.
This is when I started to think about Methodology and placed an order right away for 5 days worth of food. All of their food is refined sugar-free, gluten-free and dairy-free (with the exception of ghee). The meals are CLEAN and the quality of food is what you are paying for. Best part, they deliver everything to you in glass containers, ready to heat up on the stove or microwave. It’s completely prepped for you. I noticed as well when ordering that you call also cater to a specific diet like keto as well.
Ok, into the fun part…
THINGS I NOTICED:
+ I was so incredibly satisfied. I looked forward to every single meal and never felt hungry afterwards.
+ I had ZERO bloating or heartburn the entire time. Even with all of the veggies I was consuming.
+ One day, I had to order a salad from Chipotle for lunch because I was not home and that was my only “healthy” option and I noticed even with their salad my stomach didn’t feel right after it.
+ I wasn’t doing this for weightloss, but I lost a few pounds (which is wild because I felt like I ate a ton).
+ On day 1 I kept *almost* snacking a bunch. I realized how much I probably do snack (way more than I thought). Even packing Parker’s lunch, I almost grabbed a piece of cheese just by habit.
+ By day 4 I noticed my skin looked healthier. I actually asked Tyson how my skin looked one day and he asked if I got a new foundation and I told him that I didn’t have any on!! I was very impressed- ha!
+ I only had half a days worth of food on day 5 leftover, but when I was on my own for food, I only craved clean foods. I realized how much of what we had in the house wasn’t as healthy as I thought. I also realized how many packaged foods we were eating. It kind of grossed me out by day 5 to think about it all.
+ The ease of food for 5 days freed up SO much of my time. I think it was just so helpful for me to not have to think about what to make…
DOWNSIDE:
+ Only delivers to California, Portland, Seattle and their delivery window is at an odd time (not the biggest deal though).
+ It can be pricey! But when you see the type of food you get, the ease with making meals and on top of that, you feel so great, it’s worth every penny.
+ There aren’t instructions on the meals or which jar goes with which. It’s meant to be there to mix and match (which is really nice) but I think some people need more guidelines. They said they are actually putting one together though which is great.
Overall, I would order this again and again. I plan to at least order it quarterly for a couple days at a time. I can’t say enough great things about this company and until you try it for yourself and see what I’m talking about, it’s hard to put into words!
Let me know if you have any questions! As always, I like sharing the things I love : )
