I get asked a lot about items in our bedroom and I think the most common response is that people are surprised when they find out how affordable some of the items are. We rent our house, so my goal was to make it feel comfortable and cozy, but not break the bank since this isn’t our long-term home.
My top tips to a light and bright bedroom:
- Always keep blinds pulled up/open. Curtains could work, but I like to see as much window as possible.
- Pain the room white! This room was a dark tan when we first moved in and it really make the room feel dark and small. It’s amazing what a simple coat of paint can do to a room! White paint is always my preference.
- White bedding. I love to make a bed feel like a hotel bed. All white sheets and pillows with a simple pop of color makes it feel refreshing.
- I love a simple white wall frame. I added photos I’ve taken of the family and made them black and white to keep things neutral.
- A rug can really warm things up. This rug in particular has some creams and light grey colors in it, so it’s a great option to keep things feeling light and bright but adding some variation.
