I almost want to cry just thinking about my love for this little human. She is honestly the sweetest girl and I am so grateful for her. I feel like we’ve really found our groove with Chloe and just in general, as a family of 4 now. I also feel like I’ve gotten through my personal hardest times with a new baby (I personally feel like the first 3-4 months are hard, but yet you get through it, barely blink, and they are over with). This is just a really great time. Watching her personality start to form just brings so much joy to all of us. I love being her Momma so incredibly much.
Personality
Chloe is such a sweet and content baby. If she cries now, we know there is really something bugging her. I sometimes can’t believe it, just given how unsettled she was when she was younger. In all honesty, that was a really tough time. It felt extremely defeating. But now, knowing that we figured out the root of the issue, it’s amazing to see how different we feel. And by her feeling more settled and calm, we’ve really been able to see her personality come out. I absolutely love these new stages we are entering with her!
Sleeping
The Taking Cara Babies ABC’s of Sleep program worked for us within three nights. It was amazing! We started it a few days after she turned 5 months. We also used the merlin suit to transition her out of the swaddle and Chloe seemed very happy. About a week ago though, Chloe rolled in the merlin suit, so we’ve transitioned her out of that and into a nested bean sleep sack. The first 3 nights she didn’t really know what to do with herself and she woke up quite a few times, but since then, she’s been sleeping so well!
Right now she goes down at 7pm. We always put her down on her back and with a pacifier, but she quickly rolls to the side or fully face down (cue momma anxiety spiking!!!). She usually wakes up about 4:45am and has a tough time on her stomach adjusting so we have been going back in to put her on her back and give her the pacifier and goes back to sleep until about 7:15am. We will have to break that habit at some point, but right now, we are just focusing on one thing at a time!
Eating
We are doing 7 oz bottles about every 3-4 hours throughout the day right now. And we are currently aiming to give her about 3 TBS of food 2x a day. Her first food was mashed banana, then we tried mashed avocado, and lately, I’ve been mixing some pears or sweet potatoes (by Happy Baby) with rice cereal when I don’t have anything else available. She loves food so much, just like her brother did.
PS. I wanted to shout out Baby Brezza here, because the truth is, that machine has been SO dang convenient. It was one of those, not necessary, but absolutely amazing baby purchases!
I had to share the things we have loved the most lately for Chloe…
